Ten Essence Decoction (十全湯)

🍲 Introduction

This soup blend is inspired by the traditional formulas Ba Zhen Tang (Eight-Treasure Decoction) combining the essence of Qi and blood-nourishing, as well as kidney and liver tonic herbs. While not intended to treat any medical condition, this recipe may help restore vitality, support circulation, and promote gentle nourishment and recovery.

當歸 (dāng guī) – Chinese Angelica Root
川芎 (chuān xiōng) – Szechuan Lovage Rhizome
炒芍 (chǎo sháo) – Stir-Fried White Peony Root
熟地 (shú dì) – Prepared Rehmannia Root
黨蔘 (dǎng shēn) – Codonopsis Root
炙黃耆 (zhì huáng qí) – Honey-Fried Astragalus Root
白朮 (bái zhú) – Atractylodes Rhizome
茯苓 (fú líng) – Poria
何首烏 (hé shǒu wū) – Polygonum Multiflorum Root
黃精 (huáng jīng) – Polygonatum Rhizome
杜仲 (dù zhòng) – Eucommia Bark
紅棗 (hóng zǎo) – Red Date
黑棗 (hēi zǎo) – Black Date
枸杞 (gǒu qǐ) – Goji Berry

When to use

With a rich, earthy sweetness and warming herbal depth, it is best enjoyed during seasonal transitions, postpartum recovery, or periods of fatigue and low energy.
